I wonder if a web designerreally thinks about how user friendly his sitewill be before he starts to createthe actual web design.
When searching the Internet some of the sites I come across are so difficult to manoeuvre, it makes me wonder if the web designer gave any thought to the end users at all.
The bright flash intro where you can't see the option to skip which always takes so long to load and slows your computer down, the annoying spam pop ups, or the Internet page that takes you to another completely different site without you realising it and when you try and get back to where you want to be the only way you can do that is to do a new search.
I think a Web Designer should consider that some people do not want to trawl through a vast amount of information on a website before they actually find what they are looking for.
One of the most annoying things I find is when I register on a website and then start receiving spam messages.
I understand that site owners want to promote their sites, but when you have to trawl through hundreds of spam emails it is most annoying and although most go into the junk box, I still have to check as sometimes legitimate emails end up there as well.
Some spam emails give you the option of opting out of receiving further emails, but when you try to do this you get bounced around the site before you actually find the area where you can unregister yourself.
I think the Internet is a marvellous place with an abundance of information. You just have to really define your searches to really get the information you are looking for.
Years ago I remember trying to find recipes for Caribbean dishes. The search text I entered returned numerous adult content information and I really could not define what "Caribbean dishes" had to do with adult porn.
I have however learnt since then, and make sure that I really define my search text, I include quotations marks to ensure I get theresults that I am after.
