Technology at its Best

When I was at school I was really into computers but my parents wouldn't allow me to have a PC they were very old school and didn't believe in things like that, so to learn that I wanted to get into web design when I left school didn't really go down to well with them but I think that's because they didn't fully understand it.

Finally I finished school and went on to college to do a secretarial course which my parents had pushed me into, my heart was still with Web Design but at least i got to work on a PC during the day.

Finally I graduated but still my parents would not let me follow my dream and I did a further two years at college. I then got a job in a hotel and my dad finally got his own PC, about time too.

He called me up to ask me how to set his computer up I called around and showed him how to use it from simple tasks of turning the PC on to using the Browser to its full potential, he was totally amazed at the browsers function, he couldn't believe that by typing a simple word in the browser search box that it would pull up so many different sites.

I thought this would be a good time again to discus with him the possibility of changing careers even at this stage to going into web design, he knew web design had been something that I had wanted to do for years he was hoping that I would get bored of it but that hadn't happened, finally he took me seriously and within days I was using my own browser to find out how to get into web design.

When my dad finally let my mum on the pc which to this day I still believe he thinks was a mistake he showed her himself how to use the browser and search for something although omitted to tell her the full potential of on-line shopping, I came round to see her and said oh no your on the PC i can contact you via messenger, messenger she said whats one of those when its at home, ive only just learned how to use a browser.

I told her that Messenger was a facility that allowed people to talk to each other from their own computers, but you had to have the same time of messenger as the person you wanted to speak to then you had to add their contact details to your messenger and they had to accept you, I set her up with messenger and it was a big mistake, my mum is now fully hooked on the pc spending all day chatting to her friends my dad doesn't get a look in anymore, me well I finally got into web design and i am loving it.
